Primary School News

Mr Michael Connolly, Head of Primary School

Dear Parents,

On Friday, our littlest boys were able to farewell our biggest boys as they walked down the driveway for the last time as Marist men. The boys from the Primary School did a great job of making this final walk a truly memorable occasion for the graduates as they presented them with their posters and posed for photos together. The poster sharing ritual has become a very special part of our Graduation Day for the graduates and the joy on the faces of the older boys and their families when they spot their poster is always a great moment. I was fortunate to present some of the graduates with their silver crucifix at the Mass on Friday and it was hard to believe that eight years had passed since I welcomed many of them, and their families, into the Primary School at the start of their Marist journey. My message to all our primary students this week is to make the most of the opportunity they have been given by attending this great school. In no time at all, it will be these boys who will be walking down the driveway in 2029 and 2030.

A sincere thank you to all the wonderful mums and dads who have worked tirelessly to support their sons this year. Educating boys is very much a team effort, and our Marist parents play a huge role in the success our boys achieve each year. I would like to wish all our Primary families a safe, happy and holy Christmas holiday and I look forward to seeing many of you in the Primary School again to start off our 2024 year together.

End of Year Assembly

Our End of Year Assembly takes place this Thursday in the Draney Theatre starting at 12:00pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to farewell our Year 6 students as they graduate from Primary School. At the conclusion of the assembly, there will be an opportunity for parents and students to gather in the courtyard of The Tower for refreshments. From here, Year 6 parents may leave the college with their sons directly from the Tower (approx 2:15pm). Please note that boys who do not have parents present will need to stay on college property until 3:10pm. Our Year 5 students will also stay in the Primary School until 3:10pm.

We look forward to seeing many of you to celebrate this milestone event in the lives of your sons.
