Last Week of 2023

Normal classes for all year levels will run across Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23  November. It is expected that all students will be in attendance from 8:30am-3:10pm on these days. Make-up exams for students who missed exam block session/s will also be held over these two days. Please check your emails for your make-up exam date, time and location.

If a student is planning on being away from the College, they must complete an Extended Leave Form. This requires signatures from their teachers, Pastoral Leaders, Academics Leaders and from the College Leadership Team. Students can collect this form from the Studies Office which must be completed at least three days prior to departure from the College.

Semester 2 Reports

Semester 2 reports will be released to parents by  Friday 1 December.  Please ensure that you follow the directions outlined below on how to access these.

2024 Book / Resource List

Year 8 Writing Task Practice

During exam block all Year 8 students will participate in a practice writing task. The boys completed a task in Term 2 and will complete another one this term to gauge improvement in their writing.  They cannot prepare for this task, nor will it contribute towards their end of semester report.  All boys will complete this practice in the Champagnat Centre. These tasks will be marked externally, and this information will be used by English Teachers next year to help the boys with their Term 1 English Assessment task.

Year 9-10 Electives 2024

Last week, students in Years 9 and 10 in 2024 were notified of their electives for next year. Please ensure that you take the time to discuss that these are the correct choices for your son.  If he needs to have a discussion about these electives, he must see a member of the Academic Care team before the end of school this year.  Please note that subject changes for 2024 at this stage are now subject to timetable constraints and class sizes. The Academic Care team are located under the Senior Library at the Studies Office.

Year 7 and 8 – Languages and Subjects 2024

In 2024 all Year 7 students will study a semester of both Japanese and French.  Boys entering Year 8 in 2024 will continue to study their chosen language from Year 7 across the year. As a college we value the impact and opportunity that learning languages provides our students.  Brain research has also shown that learning an additional language supports learning across all curriculum areas.

Please note – there are no electives for students in Years 7 and 8.  Electives begin in Year 9.

Year 7 and 10 2024 – Laptop

Students in Years 7 and 10 in 2024 will receive their school provided laptop during the first week of school in 2024.  Next week an email will be sent to all families to inform them of the College Laptop Agreement that must be signed before any student is able to collect their laptop.

All Year 12 students should be on myQCE – if not, help for registration can be found here: https://myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au/home/help/student-portal-faqs This needs to be completed as soon as possible to make sure results and SEPs can be accessed smoothly from 9:00am on the 15th of December.
