VTAC upcoming important dates for Class of 2023

  • December round offers released on 21 December and can be viewed in applicant’s VTAC account at 2pm
  • VTAC’s final webinar for 2023 on Getting ready for offers covered the offer process and preparing for offers – recording available to watch here.  
  • Refer to VTAC factsheets for important information about the December offer round and Understanding Offers.
  • VTAC change of preference reopens at 2pm on 21 December and closes at 4pm on 22 December for consideration in second round offers on 12 January 2024.
  • Go to the VTAC important dates webpage for all offer rounds in January and February 2024 and their change of preference deadlines.

Support available for transitioning beyond high school 

In addition to the study support and career services provided by tertiary institutions to their current students, the below services offer help with study, work, and careers along with advice for your life journey.

  • Youth Central – Jobs and Careers provides career advice for job seekers about a whole range of work-related topics. Find out how to create a resume or job application letter and what happens in a job interview. Get some advice about where to find jobs or work experience. Learn about your rights as an employee and what you can do if you think you're being treated unfairly.
  • Headspace Work and Study programs support 15-25 year old’s to plan a career, find employment or work towards further education in a highly accessible, confidential and youth-friendly environment.
  • myfuture Job seeker resources to help you prepare for the different stages of getting a job.
  • Youth Central – Advice for Life including managing your money, looking for somewhere to live, travelling overseas, staying safe and looking after your mental health and much more.

Exploring volunteering opportunities in the summer holidays

Volunteering is a great way to develop important work and life skills and the summer holidays is an ideal time for students to explore such opportunities. Becoming a volunteer not only helps others but is rewarding and of immense value to you. Study Work Grow lists several ways volunteering can benefit you such as learning new skills, giving your resume a boost and standing out in tertiary applications, forming connections and networking, plus increase your personal development and have positive impacts on your health. Maria Island Marine Biology Experience

This is a 5-day practical learning experience unit for students studying year 11 and 12 in 2024. The unit is open to 24 students and is designed to engage, challenge, excite and inspire you through a hands-on marine science program. It will encourage you to explore issues threatening biodiversity as well as the productivity of the marine system. Climate change, invasive species, pollution, debris and their associated social and economic impacts will be covered.
