Week 10 Term 4 2023
Dear Parents and Carers.
This will be the final official newsletter for 2023. We will send out a short one next week with some picture of the events that have taken place over the next week.
What another amazing year for our St Bede's community.
I wish to start the newsletter by acknowledging those staff members who will be leaving St Bede's at the end of the year
Bernadette Reed
Bernadette has been a classroom teacher, music teacher as well as our Religious Education Leader over her 10 years at St Bede's.
She has had an enormous impact on students, parents and staff. This impact can in no way be measured as there are just too many positive impacts. Her diligent preparation and planning for schools masses and concerts will be hard to replace.
We will be keeping Bernadette busy until the final day as she helps prepare the students for Graduation, end of year mass as well as Carols on Monday night. Maybe we should get her to sing a carol by herself on Monday night!!!
We wish Bernadette all the best as Deputy Principal at Genazanno next year.
James Carbines
James during his time as St Bede's has taught all levels from Yr 1 to Yr 6. His teaching style has had an impact on many students over his 8 years at St Bede's. James can be spotted a mile away by his signature Bow Tie. James during his time at St Bede's has also been our Maths leader and has helped lift the school's maths results over the years. He also loves a good spreadsheet!
We wish James all the best at Camberwell Boys Grammar School next Year.
Arianna Chor
Arianna has been at St Bede's for the past two years. During part of this time she has also been our Literacy Leader. Arianna has a happy disposition and has a genuine love and care for her students. We thank Arianna for her contribution to St Bede's and wish her all the best at Holy Spirit next year.
Livinia Mason
Livina has been an LSO at St Bede's for the past two years. She has worked extensively to support students with additional needs. Her warm welcoming approach endears her to both students and staff. Livinia will be commencing her teaching career next year and we wish her all the best.
Jessica Marchio
Jessica joined St Bede's this year in a part time capacity. Jessica has been a wonderful teacher for our Yr. 1 children with her warm smile and caring approach towards the children. Her classroom is always a welcoming place. We wish Jessica all the best in whatever she does next year.
Funfields
Yesterday our Yr 6 students enjoyed a "fun" day at Funfields Adventure Park. Thank you to the Yr.6 teachers who helped organise the day. The weather was perfect!!
Graduation
Tonight our Yr 6 students will graduate from St Bede's!!!! The evening will commence with Mass at 6.00pm. followed by dinner/disco in the hall. Parents will join us for a special dance to complete the evening. We look forward to a wonderful celebration.
Carols
Our annual carols evening will take place on Monday 11th December. This is a wonderful event that brings our community together. The event will take place even if it rains. We will use the church and hall if required. A few food vans have been organised for the night. Please ensure you children are at school on time and that we are all repectful and listening when the children are performing. It promises to be a great evening. All children are expected to be in attendance. If for some reason you child will be absent then you need to let your child's classroom teacher know.
End of Year mass.
The end of year mass will take place on Thursday the 14th at 9.15am. At this mass we will present leadership positions for 2024 as well as recognise those families who are leaving St Bede's
Just a reminder that school finishes on Friday the 15th at 1.00pm. At 12.45pm our Yr 6 students will assembly on the oval for a parade run through. All parents are welcome to join us.
