Caring Learning Growing: Every Child Every Day

Dear Families,

We thank all those who joined us today for our Father's Day shared lunch. The children were very excited to have Dad's and any other adult who is precious to them attend today.

I was a young 22 year old when my dad passed away. I was very fortunate to have had a dad who loved me until then and I have continued to be very fortunate with all the other people in my life who have loved and supported me, including my Mum whose strength in the face of loss inspired us all to embrace life.

Father's Day can mean many things to us all. It is most importantly a time to celebrate significant people in our lives who are there for us. These people can be Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, Friends, Mums etc. Families can be diverse, and the most important thing for a child is to be surrounded by adults who show them love, support and are present in their lives.

So today we celebrate all those wonderful Dads and other adults who champion our SMJ children and are always there for them. Thank you!

May Father's Day be a great day in whatever way you celebrate and we remember with love those Dads who are no longer with us.

Louise

God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea, the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, the wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle’s flight, the joy of a morning in spring, the faith of a mustard seed, the patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, then God combined these qualities, when there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, and so, He called it … Dad.
