Father's and Special People's Afternoon
This afternoon the school community came together to recognise the Fathers and Special People in the lives of our students. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share some special time with their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or any special person.
Our visitors and students engaged in various activities designed to create connection and fun! Whether it was a game, a creative project, or a chance to explore, there was something for everyone to enjoy. To add to the festivities, all visitors and students could enjoy a complimentary sausage sizzle. This was a great chance to catch up with other families and enjoy a casual bite together.
Thank you to everyone who attended to make this afternoon so successful. Thank you also to everyone who supported the event organisation, from teachers to our admin staff, and parents/carers.
Best Wishes Mrs Harris
We would like to share our very best wishes to Mrs Harris and her husband Stefan as they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child in early October. From next Monday, Mrs Harris will be departing 2A and transitioning into Family Leave. We look forward to seeing photos in the coming weeks!
Welcome Back Mrs Ward
I am delighted to welcome back our Assistant Principal, Mrs Ward, who has returned after being on leave this term due to shoulder surgery. We have greatly missed her presence and leadership at Cheltenham East Primary School. Mrs Ward's dedication has always been an integral part of our school community, and we are excited to have her back with us. Please join us in extending a warm welcome as she resumes her role and reconnects with our students, staff, and families.
2024 School Review
With our upcoming School Review next term, this Survey is designed to help the school collect data on the following goal within our 2020-2024 School Strategic Plan.
Enhance learning partnerships and communication between students, parents, the school and the wider community.
We would appreciate it if you could spend 5 minutes to complete this short 6-question survey.
I am also still seeking parents/caregivers to volunteer their time to participate in our School Review's parent focus group early next term. Our families' perspectives are crucial in helping us understand what and why we are doing well and where we can make enhancements to serve our students and community better. The School Review Panel will engage parents/caregivers in questions that were previously determined by the panel itself. These questions will be connected to the goals of the school's 202-2024 School Strategic Plan. The panel consists of the School Reviewer, Senior Education Improvement Leader, Challenge Partners (two Principals from other schools), School Council President, School Principal and members of the school's Leadership Team.
How to get involved?
To register your interest, please complete this Google Form.
Date - Thursday October 10th from 9.15am. We anticipate the session will run for approximately 1 hour.
Please note that I am seeking approximately 10-15 parents to participate. Should I receive nominations beyond this number, I may run a ballot to determine the final participants.
Thank you in advance,
Robert
Trivia Night
Our recent Parent/Carer Trivia Night was a tremendous success! It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and friendly competition, all for a great cause.
A huge thank you to our dedicated Parents' Committee for their hard work and organisation. Your efforts made the event run smoothly and contributed greatly to its success. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who donated items for the silent auction. Your generous contributions were greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for your continued support and for making this event such a memorable one. We look forward to more such community gatherings in the future!
Emergency Management Drills
Please be informed about our upcoming emergency management drills, designed to ensure the safety and preparedness of our students and staff.
We will be conducting a lockdown drill on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3rd, followed by an onsite evacuation drill on the afternoon of Monday, September 16th. These drills are crucial in preparing our school community for any emergency situation and help us refine our procedures to ensure a swift and safe response.
The safety and wellbeing of our students are our top priorities, and regular drills are an important part of our commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment. We appreciate your support and understanding as we carry out these essential exercises. We will discuss these drills with the students at school and you may like to also discuss this at home.
Excursions/Camps Consent
Following consultation with teachers and the office staff, we are implementing an adjustment to our existing parent/guardian consent deadline for students to attend excursions and camps.
In support of staff and the challenge of chasing up consent on the day of an event, access for parents/carers to provide consent will close at midnight the day before each event. Unfortunately, there will be no flexibility in this process.
I urge everyone to provide consent as soon as events become active on Sentral. Should you require support regarding event payment, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Robert
