From the Year 6 Classroom
In Literacy, the students have just completed their unit on Poetry. We have been exploring and writing Odes, Ballads, and Free Verse poetry. The students completed a SWIFT analysis, looking at the structure and poetic devices used in various forms of poetry. The students were very creative in presenting their Podcast, using a range of techniques to engage the listener.
Focusing on identifying the features of 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. The students current focus is Angles, where they are classifying, measuring the degree of acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles, straight angles, reflex angles and revolution angles.
In other news, the Year six cohort had a fabulous time participating in their final Book Week parade. Lots of colour and creativity with all of the costumes. It was fabulous to have a great representation of students perform at the ‘Poetry Slam’ last Friday, all students wowed the audience.
