Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Parent Session

Parenting is such a rewarding and beautiful privilege. It is also a lot of hard work and requires constant learning on the spot as we adapt to the current circumstances our children and we find ourselves in. With younger children it often seems that when we get their routine settled and we feel it is working and we understand it, suddenly it changes. This challenge of keeping up with the developments in our children’s  life continues into the teenage years.

Our role at Nazareth is to support the Parents/Guardians/Carers as the primary educators of your children. With developments in Social Media and internet, as Parents/Guardians/Carers we often feel we are behind our children and not aware of what they are doing.  In an effort to support our Parents/Guardians/Carers and also develop our community further we are holding a Social Media Safety session for all Parents/Guardians/Carers. This will take place on Zoom next Wednesday, 28 August from 7.00 pm-8.00 pm.  We hope this session will be informative and helpful for Parents/Guardians/Carers of teenagers. We look forward to seeing you on Zoom.   Link below.

Child Safety

As part of our work on Child Safety there are numerous policies on the College website for Child Safety. One of the policies is the Engaging Families on Child Safety Policy. I would encourage Parents/Guardians/Carers to have a look at the policy that can be found on this link: www.nazareth.vic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/Engaging-Families-in-Child-Safety-Policy.pdf

There also many other Child Safety policies and we encourage Parents/Guardians/Carers to be having a look at our child safety policies and working with us to ensure we are all doing everything we can to ensure our community is the best it can be.

Sleep Out

This Friday, 23 August 2024 is our annual St Vincent de Paul’s  Winter Sleep Out. We encourage all families and students to support this as we look to raise some funds and get some packs to people who are in need. We thank the students who are participating.

Focus

As we move towards the end of the term we ask students to continue working well for the remainder of the term and ensure they are up to date with everything before the term ends. Keep working hard until the last day, utilising the learning opportunities you have.

Thank You

Thanks once again to all Parents/Guardians/Carers, for your support. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to further support your child.

God Bless.
