Kindergarten Science

Kindergarten have been learning about moving objects in Science with Mr McLean.

Last week Kindergarten experimented with some hands on learning. Students used ramps and towers to explore how the height and length of ramps effects how far and fast an object moves. We were able to do this thanks to the donation of an amazing STEM trolley from the Uralla Pre-school. Students were so excited to learn with these fantastic tools. Thank you again to the Uralla Pre-School.

Armidale Lights Festival

Well done to all of the Stage 2 and 3 students who helped create Uralla Central School’s “Four Seasons in One Tree” sculpture for the Armidale Light Festival that was held over the weekend. The sculpture looked amazing, hopefully everyone got a chance to see it in action. Students created the tree using recycled materials. Year 3 students designed some local Australian animals and were able to 3D print them to include as part of the sculpture.   The schools sculpture will be on display at the Armidale War Memorial Library as part of a sustainability display.

Kindergarten Rubies

This fortnight, Kindergarten have been busy learning some new English and Maths games!

We have enjoyed learning the rules of these new games, as well as playing them with different partners in our class. Exploring English and Maths in these active, engaging ways has improved our understanding of concepts like phonics, addition, subtraction and subitising numbers. Miss P has noticed a huge jump in our memory and recollection of information as well!

We have been enjoying the sunshine and warmer days, so we are spending more time outside learning our spelling words with chalk, improving our kicking and running skills and finding different plants and animals in our playground.
