From the Assistant Principal

Dear Parents,

I cannot believe that term 3 is nearly over and we are already at Week 8. I would like to welcome Mrs Annette McKenzie, who will be Acting Principal at St Patrick's in Term 4. I look forward to  working very closely with Mrs McKenzie to plan for a smooth transition to 2025.

ySAFE HUB

Last week many parents attended the Cybersafety session organised by Y-safe. The sessions was packed with practical, strategy-rich content that covered the most important points all families need to know about online safety. It included key information about social media and gaming, screen time recommendations, and step-by-step instructions on how to set up a cyber safe home for children of all ages.

As a part of this we now have access to the ySafe hub for 12 months. The hub address is below:

https://ysafe.onlinesafetyhub.com.au/

The hub contains a range of resources aimed at helping parents navigate the online world with their children.

MRS BURFIELD FAREWELL MASS AND CELEBRATIONS

As you already know, Mrs Burfield is now on leave for the rest of this term. On Tuesday, 24th September we will be having an official farewell mass at 11.00am. This will be an opportunity for our school and system to say thank you to Mrs Burfield for her 41 years of dedication to Catholic Education in the archdiocese. Mr Peter Turner, Acting Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools will be in attendance at this mass.

You are all welcome to join us for this celebration and farewell.

Following Mass, the students will assemble on the Quad for a school farewell for Mrs Burfield.

COLOUR RUN

Many thanks to all families who assisted at our Colour Run last Friday. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. Events like this help to spread a greater sense of community, as often times, since Covid, many schools have lost that community spirit. Although our aim was to raise money for much needed playground upgrades, the fact we could all come together and share this experience is testament to building a great sense of community at St Patrick's.
