Dear Families,
It is amazing how time flies when you are enjoying yourself. It feels like only yesterday that I joined WVPS and in the blink of an eye we have already passed the mid-point of the term. I am continually being impressed by respectful and honest interactions I am having with students, parents and staff along with the great learning taking place across our wonderful school. Keep it up!
Parents/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Surveys:
If you have received an invitation to participate in this year’s Parent/Caregiver/Guardian opinion survey and are yet to complete the survey, could I please encourage you to do so. The survey responses received from our parents play a big role in supporting our decision making as a school as we move forward and continually look to provide the best learning environment for our students. An opportunity to participate in the survey remains open until Friday 30th August.
Book Week 2025
On Monday 26th August we will be celebrating Book Week across WVPS with our annual book parade. All students across the school have the opportunity to participate in the event and we can’t wait to see what wonderful book characters are brought to life by our students and staff this year.
2025 Foundation Enrolments:
Foundation enrolments for the 2025 school year are now open. If you are aware of any families who have a child looking to commence foundation with us in 2025, please encourage them to contact the office to begin the enrolment process.
Fathers Day Stall:
Next week our Parents and Friends committee will be coordinating our annual Father’s Day stall. All students will have an opportunity across either Thursday (29th) or Friday (30th) to visit the stall to purchase gifts for their special person. A huge thank you to the volunteers who will be assisting the running of the stall. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Bike & Scooter Safety
Just a reminder that it is essential for all students who ride to or from school using a bike or scooter are required to be wearing a helmet. Students who do not have a helmet will be required to leave their mode of transport safely secured in the school bike shed until they have a helmet and can safely ride home.
School Events:
We continue to have many different events taking place throughout the school. This week we have had some of our Year 4 and 6 students participating in the Billy Slater rugby league tournament, an event aimed at promoting rugby league in the area. We also have had some of our students participating in various ICAS tests in subject areas such as writing, spelling and science. Well done to these students who have taken on the challenge of these assessments.
School Photos:
School photos will be distributed tomorrow to class teachers.
Finally a massive congratulations to the students who represented the school at the recent AFL competition. Our school was very successful on the day with both our boys and girls teams coming out as the overall winners. Well done to all involved.
