Principal's Message

Mr Ben Morgan | Principal (Acting)

Dear families,

We have recently received our school NAPLAN results. Whilst NAPLAN can be a stressful time for students, we try to remind them that this is a snapshot of one day. It does not take into account their ability to show kindness, make friends, dance, paint, sing or play sport. These tests do provide us with valuable data that can be used as a system or whole school and can help us to make decisions on the best direction for staff professional learning and for reviewing our practices.

With this in mind we are really proud of how our students performed in these assessments and we are looking to continue to strengthen these results into the future. The strongest area of success across Grade 3 and Grade 5 was in Grammar and Punctuation - a great sign that our evidence based literacy programs are working!

School Registration Audit

Recently our school was involved in a full audit of all 13 standards for school registration from the Office of the Education Registrar. I am pleased to report that the audit was overwhelmingly positive and there were no issues raised. I would like to thank the teachers for their preparation and the leadership team for their amazing work preparing for the audit process. We will receive a full report in 2025 but I would like to share our initial feedback from the OER:

“I would like to thank you and the team for your professionalism and hospitality and commend the school for its obvious dedication and commitment to quality education. It is clear that John Paul ll is blessed with a dedicated and high performing leadership team and the programs that you have in place are helping to ensure positive outcomes for students and your community.

I would like to wish you and your staff team and students all the very best for the remainder of the school year and thank you again for the opportunity to see and hear about your wonderful school.”

Strategic Plan

Thank you for your input towards our strategic planning. Our survey will remain open until Friday September 6th. We would love to gather some more feedback around your priorities for the school. This survey takes less than 2 minutes to complete.

Staffing Update

We are extremely lucky to have filled the remaining days of school counselling with Rosie from Catholic Care. Rosie commenced her role last week and has already made some great connections with staff and students. Rosie is onsite Monday and Tuesday, and Lorraine covers Wednesday and Thursday. If you would like to hear more about our counselling services please contact the office.
