Dear Parents, Carers and Students
Term 3 in any school is one where we find ourselves preparing to farewell our Year 12 cohort, but also begin to look forward to planning for the incoming student leadership team. This week I had the absolute privilege of interviewing a selected group of students who were willing to put themselves forward as prospective school captains for 2025. My hat goes off to each and everyone of them who came along and sat in front of a panel of school leaders and answered a range of tricky questions, from what do you love about this College through to what legacy would you like to leave at the end of your time here. Each student was thoughtful and considerate, honest and reflective. Not only did they interview well, but they have also presented themselves to their peers, holding a 2 minute speech to years 9-11 on Wednesday afternoon. I honestly look forward to working closely with the successful candidates, each and every one of them would lead our College well, with pride, confidence and passion. I encourage you to view the videos!
I would also like to acknowledge the hard work of our CAPA students and their teachers. For those of you who attended the recent Showcase Night would agree with me, we certainly have a talented group of musicians and drama students. Watching our students shine up on stage and on film after two years of study and many many long hours of planning and creating was such an honor. And to our teachers who have worked alongside them, encouraging and nurturing their passions and talent. I would like to wish them all the very best as they now head towards their practical examinations in Drama and Music.
As we move swiftly to the end of the term I would like to continue to ask for your support in ensuring our students are ready for learning each and every day, from correct uniform to reminding students that chewing gum is not permitted at school. Being prepared includes charged devices, calculators and even pens. Each morning in PAC we are encouraging students to be prepared and in the right mindset for a positive learning day, being well equipped is key to being successful.

With regards,
Mellissa Bell
