Bliss Polinar Teaching to inspire

With an unwavering passion for awakening children's thirst for knowledge, I embark on a journey where students not only discover their boundless capacities but also forge a path to endless possibilities, all while fostering a spirit of benevolence.

Having spent six enriching years as a Preschool Teacher, I've mastered the art of cultivating confidence in children by harnessing the power of the Play-Based Approach, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori methodologies.

Guiding their choices, actions, and behaviours through the magic of Positive Discipline, I've empowered students to develop self-regulation and cultivate friendships that radiate positivity.

My legacy at Manat National High School speaks volumes. Collaborating with fellow educators, I orchestrated differentiated instruction, propelling the national achievement rate to new heights. For 13 years, I illuminated young minds as an English teacher at the Department of Education, Philippines. As a Campus Journalism Coach and Adviser for eight years, I earned a place in the pantheon of exceptional educators, earning accolades and nominations that showcased my dedication.

Recognised as an Outstanding Teacher for the 2014 - 2015 school year, I don't simply teach - I inspire. My quest for growth led me to SEAMEO INNOTECH, where I delved into educational innovation and technology, earning an exceptional rating. Armed with a TESOL Certificate, I stand ready to bridge language barriers and connect with diverse learners.

Before gracing the halls of St. Anne’s College, I ventured as a freelance educator. In the realm of toddlers aged one and a half to three, I orchestrated symphonies of social relationships through creative play, storytelling, and hands-on activities. For the four to five-year-olds, I championed literacy and numeracy through captivating enrichment classes.

So here's to passion, innovation, and a legacy of inspiration. As I step into this new chapter, I am Bliss Polinar, your conduit to cultivating inquisitive minds, fostering friendships, and lighting the way for tomorrow's luminaries.

Machingaifa Kazayi - A world of experience

Hi, my name is Machingaifa Kazayi. I started my career in teaching in Zimbabwe majoring in Mathematics and Accounting for year groups

8 - 13 at Mhangura High School in Mashonaland, West province. In January 2010, I started a  new journey joining the Department of Education, Northern Cape as a Specialist Mathematics personnel for MST - Schools program in South Africa, where I was attached to Galaletsang Science High School for seven years and Nametsegang High for two years.

In  February 2019, I joined LEAP MATHS & SCIENCE SCHOOLS in Johannesburg, South Africa as a Mathematics Teacher for Grades 10 - 12, but I only spent four months there before spending the last four years teaching Mathematics and Numeracy as a Specialist/ LEAD for the Royal Bafokeng Institute, attached to the Akanyang Centre for Teaching. My duties included teacher development for veteran teachers, curriculum support for teacher interns and teacher ambassadors as well as Mathematics tuition and B.Ed students.

I am happy to be part of the St Anne's College family as the school resonates well with my teaching philosophy of inquiry based learning.  Learning and teaching of mathematics should always be connected to the learner's life experiences for it to be meaningful.

Harry Shortis - An LSO for the Year 8s

Hi, I’m Harry. I’m 20 years old and from Kyabram. I started at St Annes this term as an LSO on Mondays. I’m really enjoying working with the other LSO’s and getting to know the Year 8 students.

Last year during my gap year, I completed a learning support traineeship at St Pat’s Primary School in Tongala (awesome school!). I’m currently studying Media and Communications at La Trobe in Melbourne. In my free time I enjoy going out with my mates and love travelling overseas.

Trent Herbert - Pleased to be taking up a wonderful opportunity

Hi my name is Trent Herbert and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful team at St Anne’s College as an LSO. Prior to working at St Anne’s, I was lucky enough to work with the McCauley Champagnat Programme at Notre Dame and also to be a youth worker at Primary Care Connect. Outside of work, I love playing football for the Shepparton Bears and spending time with my friends and family. I really look forward to being able to help the students here with my knowledge and experience.

WELCOME BACK

Nadia Mori - Sharing culture

Hi, my name is Nadia Mori and I am so happy to be teaching in the wonderful learning environment at St. Anne’s College. Prior to teaching, I worked as a Learning Support Officer (LSO) and in an Out of School Hours Care program. I enjoy coming to work and making a positive impact on students. My family has an Italian background and I am very excited to be sharing my culture with the School of Wonder children as an Italian language mentor. When I’m not at work, I love spending quality time with my little family. I am excited for what my new role has to offer. I look forward to collaborating with School of Wonder staff and students.
