Registrations to play cricket at Karramomus Junior Cricket Club are now open for the 2023/24 season.
Karramomus is an inclusive club that welcomes participation by all.
NEW - Community Recovery Committee - Mooroopna
The Community Recovery Committee have arranged a second meeting for any Mooroopna based organisation or resident who may like to join in the recovery conversation.
A number of colleagues from Council and Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV), have been invited to provide an update around some of the discussions that had at the last meeting.

UPDATED - Mooroopna Park - 'Their Care' After School Care
Their Care - After School Care is currently being run from Mooroopna Park Primary School and will soon be also running from Mooroopna Primary School.
They offer a variety of activities and outdoor play. The children will have afternoon tea offered to them during the program.

Safe Seats Safe Kids Program
Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre are once again hosting the Safe Seats, Safe Kids program. This is a free service to both fit new and check existing child car restraints. The QR code can be scanned to book an appointment time that suits. This is a great local service to help families ensure their car seats are fitted correctly.

Saver Plus continues to assist school families with education costs.
SAVER PLUS UPDATE.
After many months of planning and reviews, We did it! Saver Plus is now a national program delivered online and expanding nationally, resourced to support disadvantaged Australians anywhere across the country, regardless of their location and gives us the capacity to deliver Saver Plus to more people than ever before. Nine news are airing tonight about Saver Plus on the Melbourne and Sydney 6pm bulletins.
SAVER PLUS SNAPSHOT:
Saver Plus is a free financial education and matched savings program offered to lower-income families to help them budget and save for education costs. In the 10-month program, participants gain financial knowledge, learn healthy savings habits by saving $50 a month, and have their savings matched up to $500 to be used towards school costs such as uniforms, books, laptops, and extra-curricular activities such as sport or music.
At Saver Plus, we pair participants with a savings coach while they budget and save over the next 10 months. Participants attend online Zoom workshops to learn tips, tricks, and information to grow their budgeting and savings skills. Once they reach their agreed savings goal, their savings are matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $500. That means participants save $500 and we match their savings with another $500. $500 saved plus the matched funds = $1000.
A reminder that people may be eligible to join Saver Plus if they meet all the following the criteria:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: You could be eligible to join Saver Plus if you:
- Be 18 years or over
- Be a parent or guardian of a student attending school, or be attending or returning to
- vocational training yourself
- Have a current Health Care card or Pensioner Concession card
- Have some form of income, for example, yourself or your partner may have casual, part-time, full-time, seasonal, or cash-in-hand employment
- Be in receipt of an eligible Commonwealth social security benefit, allowance, or payment
