House Activities

On Thursday 10 August, our Year 12 House Captains organised a series of House activities for Prep – Year 12 students. This was a totally student devised and lead series of activities which ran over two lessons. Activities included House Banner making, House chants and a Just Dance – Dance-Off in the Hall! It was a wonderful opportunity for students across our Junior and Senior School to strengthen their House friendships and connections. It was such a joy to witness our students simply enjoying spending time together and having so much fun.

Later that evening, students from Year 5 –12 came back to the Hall for our inaugural House Film Night. There was popcorn, cookies, hot chocolate, and fun all round as they settled in to watch the hilarious School of Rock

Thank you to our wonderful student leaders for their hard work and organisation in putting together two such fantastic events.

Student Leadership Update

On Thursday 24 August, our Prefect Candidates will present their speeches at our Senior School Assembly. We look forward to hearing from candidates for the roles of School Co-Captain, House Captain, Student Voice Captain and Diversity and Inclusion Captain. Following the assembly students and staff will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates via an online preferential voting paper.

I wish the candidates all the best for this next stage of the leadership process.

Uniform Update

I am pleased to advise that navy duffel coats are now available to order from Noones. The duffel coat may be worn as the outer garment with the winter academic uniform.  I can also confirm that short sleeved blouses and shorts are also in store and may be purchased in preparation for Term 4.

Student Safety

The safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount. We ask that all parents please do the following when collecting students at the end of the day:

  • When possible, please park further away from Shelford and walk up to Hood Crescent for student collection.
  • Where appropriate, please encourage students to walk/bike/scooter/take public transport to school.
  • If your daughter is in Junior School, please collect her from the JS gate (Gate 3) not from across the road.
  • If your daughter is in Senior School, please do not double park in Hood Crescent. Following pick-up, please continue driving slowly (less than 40km) with an awareness of the Junior School gate, to ensure the safety of Junior School parents and students crossing Hood Crescent.
  • Please do not park in the staff car park, Church grounds or the Doctor’s surgery car park.

Students have been reminded that when crossing Glen Eira before and after school, they must use the designated crossing. The traffic during this time is usually at its busiest, and crossing at any other point puts students at risk.

Thank you in advance for your support of these measures which will help to ensure the safety of our students and their families at the beginning and end of each school day.
