Rushworth Community House

Community Partnerships Update

Each Monday we have a student representative from each class go to Rushworth Community House to help with the 10am craft group.

This craft group is open to everyone. We encourage any family member that is interested in crafts and are available at 10am on a Monday to participate in this opportunity. We have also been informed that young children are able to accompany you.

Likewise, if you know of anyone who is interested in crafts, please let them know of this session.

Small groups of F-2 students have also started to go to the Hostel on Tuesday mornings with Jennie. They have been visiting the residents, talking, reading stories, and helping with cooking.

The F-2 students chose to complete it yesterday due to a schedule change.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons are coming up in week 9 of this term.

All students are to participate in the Aquamoves swimming program, Shepparton. The program will run daily for the week, from 4th September 2023 to 8th September 2023.

Students engaging in swimming lessons is a key part of the Victorian Curriculum from Foundation-Grade 6 and is an essential skill for all Australians. It is expected that all students attend this program, regardless of their current swimming ability or access to outside of school hours swimming lessons.

Students will travel by bus, departing the school mid morning and returning before home time.

At Aquamoves, the students' swimming ability will be assessed by qualified swimming instructors and they will be placed into groups based on their swimming abilities and their goals to meet the next level of swimming proficiency.

The cost of the excursion is included in the student levy.

Students need to wear the full school uniform each day (sky blue or sports shirts accepted).

Students will need to bring their bathers, rashie or t-shirt, towel and a plastic bag to carry home their wet bathers. Students will also need to bring their lunch, snacks and drink bottle. They may be extra hungry with the additional activity, so please pack a spare snack.

There will be no lunch orders on Monday 4th September due to travelling.
