John XXIII Netball Club

This is the last round of the 2023 Winter Netball Season.

I want to thank the coaches and managers for your time and effort this season.

I also want to thank all of the umpires who picked up a whistle and stepped up to court. It is a daunting task, and you did it magnificently.

Thank you to all of the players who stepped up to fill in for another team, you helped ensure those teams didn’t miss out on their game, and it is greatly appreciated by all of us.

Mental Health Awareness Round

This week is the Mental Health Awareness round. Players are encouraged to wear a blue armband to support this initiative. Blue tape will be put inside each team bag.

Finals

As we start to progress into finals, games can become intense.  Please remember that the game is for the enjoyment of the players. Coaches' decisions are final and should be supported by parents and players. Umpires are human and someone’s daughter; be kind and supportive. If you have a concern with the opposition or the umpires, please get the coach or manager to call Milissa.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 7pm on Wednesday, 11 October 2023.

All parents are encouraged and welcome to come. If you would like to raise any issues, please email the Club by Monday, 2 October 2023.

RSVPs are not strictly required, but it helps with booking an appropriately sized meeting space. Please RSVP by Monday, 2 October 2023.

Positions Vacant

The Club cannot function without the volunteers that are on our Committee. We are very fortunate to have an amazing group of parents who have been long-standing volunteers over the last few years, but happily, children graduate, and sadly, families move on.

We are seeking parents to fill the following volunteer roles:

  • Treasurer

The committee meets eight times yearly in a mixture of in-person and Zoom meetings.

If you would like more information on what the role entails, please email me at johnxxiiicnc@gmail.com

School Holiday Clinics

PNA will be running clinics for primary school players again in October.

These clinics are very popular and fill quickly.

More information can be found at http://www.perthnetball.com.au/junior-clinics-new/

Spring Netball

Information for the  Spring Season Competition is now available from PNA.

http://www.perthnetball.com.au/spring-competition

Parents can organise Spring teams; please read the PNA Spring instructions and information carefully.

Please note that players are still registered with John XXIII Netball Club. Hence, the code of conduct and behaviour expectations for players and spectators of John XXIII College during the Spring competition are the same as the winter season.

Forfeit fees and other fines and penalties must be paid directly to PNA by the end of the spring season.

Umpires

Beginner umpires can now register at the PNA holiday workshops.

Places fill quickly. More information can be found at http://www.perthnetball.com.au/umpire-new/

Good luck to all teams this weekend.
