Chinese Cultural Day Celebration

Chinese Cultural Day celebration was a great success on Monday, 11th of September. On the day, we ran two Lion Dance workshops with an external professional dancer Ruby Kao and two Jianzi (Chinese shuttlecock) competitions in secondary school. We also presented a wonderful Primary School concert with a variety of student performance such as fire dragon dance and poetry recitation.

The Language team would like to express our sincere gratitude to all students and teachers involved in making this an unforgettable event!

Our appreciation goes to the following:

Thank you to leadership support from Sormeh and Angela, primary school teachers who supported Beth Huang (our extraordinary Primary School Chinese Language Teacher), Sarah Adams and the Theatre Team with special thanks to student helper Gus who took care of lighting. We also want to thank all our student performers and participants for their great response and effort in all our activities.

This is truly a team effort, and our language team is grateful we are able to continue this annual tradition of the school.

Do enjoy some of the pictures taken on the day.

From the Language Team,

Xiaoming Li, Beth Huang, Felicia Peh, Mike Chen, Robyn Chen and Younghee Cho

Alice in Wonderland Play - November

"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Collingwood College is delighted to present “Alice in Wonderland”, lovingly adapted for the stage by Eva Le Gallienne and Florida Friebus, performed and created by students from classes 5 to 10. Showcasing breathtaking stagecraft and the phenomenal talents of all students, this adaptation of the works of Lewis Carroll features mad tea parties, court hearings, and fabulous feasts. Students have been working diligently during weekly rehearsals since production began in February this year. We are so excited to share this magical world with you in performance from Thursday 9th to Saturday 11th November, with both matinee and evening performances for your convenience.

Tickets go on sale October 2nd at 9am via Trybooking, so be sure to keep an eye on Compass and Instagram to get in early. Come along for the show and experience an engaging whole school production, lest you incur the wrath of the Queen of Hearts.
