From the Principal

Since our last Herald, parents in our community have received an exciting digital broadcast announcing our Heads of School for 2024. This is all part of our planned restructure here at LCS, and there are two focuses in this shift that I am really passionate about - the people and the structure.

This plan has been in the pipelines for the last two years and it has been a real privilege to work through this vision for our school with the board. The Board's recommendation was to wait for my appointment as the new Principal, so that I could speak into the plan and have important input into the restructure.

The Leadership Restructure for 2024 has been designed to bring clarity: everyone deserves to know who their boss is and what their job is. We want to future-proof the school, grow the community and invest in our staff. It has also been an opportunity to invest in the Leadership Team, to build foundations, trust, and relationship.

The elevation of Brad Robinson, our current ICT Coordinator has been significant, as his role will grow significantly beyond information technology support. In this tech savvy age, we need to develop programs for our students around digital learning, upskilling and healthy boundaries while taking a deeply Christian approach.

Introducing a Head of Secondary School from Year 7 streamlined all the way through to Year 12 has also been a structural shift. We are looking forward to deepening culture and giving clarity, identity and synergy to our secondary students in a way that helps them to feel part of a connected Secondary School experience.

The Head of Student Support is a new position with a focus on effectively supporting students and addressing the social and emotional challenges that they are facing as they grow up and learn in a complex world.

I am privileged and thankful that in partnership with the board we are able to launch this restructure and pray that the Lord would guide us as we step through the changes ahead.
