PRINCIPALS REPORT

PRINCIPAL REPORT

As we reach the end of Term 3 and welcome the ever changing seasons in Melbourne, it is with great pride and appreciation that I reflect on the remarkable student outcomes and achievements of students this term, it has been jam packed! Our students, teachers, staff, and families have shown resilience, adaptability, and determination to get through a cold 11 week term!

I am delighted to share that our students have once again demonstrated their commitment to academic excellence. Despite the disruptions, they have shown us that they continue to shine through NAPLAN, achieving some of the best results in our network.  We celebrate and congratulate our year 12 students in their unwavering dedication to their studies, and their achievements are a testament to their hard work and the support of our exceptional teaching staff. For our students that will not be sitting exams- we wish you well in your endeavours and look forward to hearing what career path, travel or study you embark on. To the Unit 3/ 4 students that are in the final leg of this VCE race, make sure you balance study and mindfulness – but do not be wondering in January when you get your results- be motivated to do the absolute best that you can!

Throughout Term 3, our year 9 students have been buzzing with ideas and innovation in how to support our local and global community. We've seen remarkable community projects, passionate discussions, and the application of critical thinking skills. As staff here at the college, we continue to be inspired by our students' willingness to make a difference and willingness to explore opportunities.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff members who have worked tirelessly to provide the best possible learning experiences for our students. Your passion, adaptability, and unwavering support have made a significant impact on our students' lives. It continues to be shifting landscape with our young people as they navigate their own new world and external pressures. As a staff we are engaging in learning with knowledgeable staff and external providers to upskill in areas of neuro diversity, inclusion and anxiety.

As we approach Term 4, let us do so with excitement and motivation. We have shown time and again that we are a resilient and caring community. Together, we will continue to prioritise the health and safety of our students and staff while providing the high-quality education Mount Eliza Secondary College is known for.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break.
