With Year 12 applications happening through VTAC at the moment, there is lots happening in preparation for applying for tertiary study next year with information sessions, workshops, expos and tours available. Please note that these are available to students at all year levels. 

Check out what is on offer at some of our universities and TAFEs – Not to mention a recruitment opportunity for part time jobs ! 

LOOKING FOR PART TIME WORK ???

There will be a fair/careers expo at Chadstone shopping centre in October where there will be employers on hand recruiting for casual retail positions.  Holmesglen TAFE will also be running free workshops on interviewing skills and the hidden job market.

DEAKIN TOURS 

Led by our knowledgeable and friendly current students, the 1-hour small group tours are a great way for students to see our world-class facilities and learning spaces, get a feel for uni life and ask questions about the courses that interest them.

 School Holidays Campus Tours

In the upcoming September holidays, RMIT will be hosting campus tours for high school students across the City, Brunswick and Bundoora campuses.  These would be worth registering for, particularly if students missed the recent RMIT Open Day.

• Science VCE Revision Lectures

Monash is offering VCE exam revision lectures in Units 3/4 in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths Methods during the September holidays. 

 Cost:                      $10.00 which includes a set of comprehensive revision notes to be                                              used throughout the session

• Experience Day Workshops

Calling all Year 10-12 students; explore your curiosity and creativity in Fine Art, Design and Architecture at Monash!

Year 10 – 12 students are invited to participate in one of these hands-on experience days workshops, to gain a better understanding of different art mediums, design thinking approaches, and architecture studios at the Monash Caulfield campus. Students will find out what it is like to be a student for a day, meet the staff and explore the workshop spaces they would get to work in as a student at Monash.

MONASH FREE EXAM PREPARATION WEBINAR 

Exam Preparation and Techniques Tuesday, 12 September, 5pm

Topics will include procrastination, practice, taking effective breaks, and study techniques, and will include a live Q&A with university students who know all about preparing for and effectively taking exams.

VICTORIA POLICE AT THE MELBOURNE ROYAL SHOW 

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Victoria Police stand at the Melbourne Royal Show  where you can learn about a potential career with Victoria Police and speak with our specialised units.

Date: Thursday 21st September – Sunday 1st October

Time: 9:30am – 6:30pm  

Location: Melbourne Showgrounds - 9News Lifestyle & Local Heroes Pavilion

Here’s what you can expect at our Victoria Police stand:

• Meet and greet with our friendly police officers and specialised units.
• Opportunities to ask questions & learn about the recruitment process.

Applications are underway at the moment for tertiary study next year through VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre)

The timely period for this ends on 28 September. Whilst you can still make an application after this time, the cost increases significantly. Please note the following dates and costs :
