Junior Sport- Year 7, 8, 9 Sport Program:

Round 3 of the JSS Competition saw SMCC Students compete against Woree.

SMCC had a bye this week. Round 4 of the JSS Competition SMCC will compete against Mackillop.

  • Students are expected to wear their SMCC Sport uniform weekly and wear the appropriate footwear. 
  • Please bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen. 
  • You will need to eat your lunch whilst being marked off the roll and meet your sports coach outside the HOB at 12.40pm weekly. 
  • You will depart the college weekly at 12.45pm to head to your venues. 
  • Please contact your sports coach for more information.

Junior Sport (Year 7, 8, 9 students not in JSS teams):

  • Year 7, 8, 9 students (not participating in JSS Competition) have been placed into the Junior Sport Program.
  • The Junior Sports program provides opportunities for students to engage in the below sports options for term 3 and term 4 on Wednesday afternoons 1.17pm-2.57pm. 
  • Students are expected to wear their school sports uniform, appropriate footwear and bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen. 
  • The Junior Sport program commenced Wednesday 19th July and will run for term 3 and 4

Junior Sport Program - Sport Options:

  • Soccer Program (Delivered by an accredited soccer coach)
  • Hockey Program (Delivered by a performance hockey coach)
  • Netball Program (Delivered by an advanced netball coach)
  • Sports Rotations (2-week rotations) and Sports include- Ten Pin Bowling, Golf, Boxing, Gym, Outdoor fitness, Yoga, Cricket, and Volleyball.

Students have been sent an email with all information and instructions. 

Students are expected to check their emails daily. Please see roster below.

 

Junior Sport Rotation Roster- Term 3:

Senior Sport- Year 10 and Year 11 Interhouse Sports Competition:

Semester 2 will see the Year 10 and 11 students engage and compete in the Interhouse sports competition. 

Students have been placed into teams in their house groups.

Teams will compete against other teams for house points in the below sports:

  • Cricket
  • Basketball
  • Touch Football
  • Netball
  • Volleyball
  • Futsal

All students to please meet in the Nazareth Pavilion every Tuesday at 1.27pm (Period 5) for Senior Sport. All students are to wear their house shirt, bring a hat and water bottle.

Students that are not participating in the Interhouse Sports Competition can do Chess Club, Aspire to Teach Program, and/or Service and Justice group.

Interhouse Competition Draw:

SMCC Netball Team- Winter Season Tuesday night competition

On Tuesday night St Mary’s took to the court against Sharks in the penultimate game of the season. Despite some early nerves the girls took the lead from the start, winning the first quarter 4 – 1. Their skill and teamwork carried them through the game to a convincing 23 – 8 win. The team plays their final round match on Tuesday @ 6.30pm against Leprechauns.

Upcoming Sports Events and Trials:

Peninsula Track and Field 10-19 years Championships

  • Students that finished in the top 4 at the TCS Athletics Carnival should have paperwork in the PG folders. Paperwork was provided to eligible students by their PG teachers. Included in the paperwork was event qualifications, and event program.
  • All students that will be competing at the Peninsula Athletics Carnival on the 20th and 21st August, need to read the required paperwork. It is up to students to arrange your own transportation to and from the Peninsula Athletics Carnival. Students need to notify the school office if you will be competing and away on Monday 21st August.
  • Students Peninsula Paperwork has been handed to the TCS manager. 

 

TCS 13-14 Years Boys and Girls Futsal Trials- Trial information has been emailed to all students.

TCS trial Venue: Bentley Park College – Senior stadium

Date of trial: Thursday, 7th September

Time of trial: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Boys TCS Trial

TCS trial Venue: MacKillop Catholic College – Senior Multi-Purpose Court

Date of trial: Thursday, 7th September

EligibilityBoys born in 2009 and 2010

Please ensure you have completed the mandatory Peninsula Paperwork (attached within the email and can be found on the TCS Portal).

Term 3 - August Sports Calendar:

Sport Coordinator Availability to support students in TCS & Peninsula Paperwork processes: 

8:10am – 8:25am: Tuesday – Friday

Second half of Second Lunch: Monday – Friday 

3:15pm – 3:30pm: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
