Primary Sub School News

Sub School Leader: Michelle Davies

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Week 8!  We are quickly progressing through Term 4 and have finally arrived at some consistently warm weather!  Our students continue to benefit from a wide variety of wonderful learning opportunities and excursions.  Many thanks for all of your hard work - it is always noticed and appreciated.

As we approach the end of 2025, please let me know if I can support you in any way, whether this is with Student Profiles, uploading reports to Accelerus or with SSG’s.

I have included a few items for your attention please:

Outdoor Movement Breaks & Supervision

Outdoor areas can be used for student movement breaks, or a break from the classroom. Students must be actively supervised in these outdoor areas by a staff member in the same outdoor area at all times.

Sun Smart Procedures

All students, staff and visitors are expected to follow the Sun Smart policy during Terms 1 and 4. We teach students to wear a broad brimmed sun hat, apply sunscreen and play in the shade.  Thank you for ensuring students are well hydrated throughout the day.

We are role models and are expected to wear hats when the UV level is above 3. Please wear your own hat when on duty outside and encourage all students to wear theirs.

Reports

Final submission of all reports is 02.12.24.  Please let me know if I can help with these.

Classroom Team Meetings

Please continue to complete your Student Profiles. These are to be uploaded on Xuno.  Please let me know if I can support in any way.

PDP’s

Reviews of PDP’s are occurring in the coming weeks.  Please take time to review whether what you have achieved has aligned with your goal developed in Term 1.  Thanks to everyone who has arranged a meeting to discuss your progress.

SSG Meetings

Please ensure you’re prepared by gathering relevant data, reviewing goals, and completing the SSG template within each student's file prior to the meeting. These meetings are crucial for providing ongoing support to our students and reviewing their progress, particularly heading into the end of the year.

Transition to 2025 Classrooms – Week 11

As we approach transition week, please consider how best to support students during this time. Help them feel confident and prepared as they meet their 2025 classmates and teachers.

I hope you have a fantastic week!

Best wishes

Michelle
