Monitoring the UV index at school is important to keep students safe from the harmful effects of the sun. High UV levels can cause sunburn, skin damage, and eye problems, and increase the risk of skin cancer later in life. By keeping track of the UV index, schools can plan outdoor activities at safer times, encourage students to wear hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses, and teach sun-safe habits that protect their health now and in the future.
YOU WILL FIND A POSTER TO HELP IN YOUR CLASSROOM'S PIGEON HOLE

First Aid:
The school provides disposable spacers for asthma management to ensure safe and effective medication delivery while maintaining hygiene. These single-use spacers are ideal for emergencies and help prevent cross-contamination. An emergency volumiser kit is also available for classroom use when needed.
Please ensure these spacers are used with the school's Ventolin, so they are not treated as single-use for individual students, allowing us to maintain sufficient stock. Currently, we only have four spare spacers left in the school.
This month, we're encouraging you to try something new!
We encourage all staff members to actively participate in reporting any safety concerns they may come across. Your vigilance and proactive approach play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for us all.
Remember, safety is a team effort, and together, we can create an environment where everyone feels secure and protected.
A special thank you to:
Kathy Asvestas for looking out for staff and replenishing the toilet paper where needed.
