Foundation to Year 1

Our Foundation friends have visited their 1/2 friends this week to start building and fostering friendships ahead of next year. The 1/2s have been showing the Foundies what learning is like in Year 1/2 to get them excited and ready for the big step up to Year 1 next year.

Student Learning- 3/4

In Science, 3/4B have been growing plants in various conditions. This is our plants at 4 weeks.

Last week the 3/4B had a fantastic time at the Werribee Zoo. Here we have a few of the recounts of our time.

3/4L have enjoyed a relaxing library session after a busy week of swimming, we love taking the time to recharge and lose ourselves in a great book!

This week, 3/4J planted seeds (finally, according to the students!) as part of our exploration into the life cycles and needs of plants and animals. Students explored independent and dependent variables by growing different seeds (e.g. alfalfa, mung beans, adzuki beans) in different conditions (e.g., soil, cotton wool, light, no light) to observe the impact of each variable. Excitement is building as students eagerly check for signs of progress each day (Hint: progress has been slow so far!). Here are some of their predictions and daily observations:
