A Visit From School Inspector Bob!

This week I welcomed former Department of Education School Inspector and Regional Director Bob McLeod into our school. Bob, grandfather of Nellie (and Alfie), and grandfather-in-law to Leading Teacher Jordan Tate, was keen to see how a modern school operates.

Bob, 95, who spent his educating years in smaller schools, was blown away by all that Croydon Hills Primary School offers. He made particular note of the pride in which our students wore their school uniforms. To me, that was a big thumbs up from Inspector Bob!

On our tour I was also able to respond to a letter I received from Nellie regarding the replacement to our Prep sunshade, which ripped in the August storms. I shared with Nellie and the Prep KB students that the new sunshade has been ordered. The new sunshade will complement the newly painted playground and the overall restoration of the area which will continue in 2025.

Road Safety and Parking

Parking and traffic controls around schools play an important part in keeping children safe. We ask that all families please assist us in keeping our community safe.

These controls ensure the crossing supervisor has a clear field of vision in all directions and can identify possible hazardous traffic conditions.

Some of the parking controls include:

  • No stopping within 20m on the approach side of a crossing.
  • No stopping within 10m on the departure side of a school crossing.
  • No stopping within 10m of an intersection (unless signs say you can).

Also, at our school we have two designated morning drop off zones that support a safe drop off and traffic flow. After school these are parking bays. It is requested that the in school drop off zone be reserved for families with access requirements and not just families using it for convenience.
