On Tuesday, the POPS Senior Choir brought joy to the Country Women’s Association (CWA) with a delightful performance. Under the guidance of our amazing choir master, Mrs Bowen, the choir beautifully sang five songs, concluding with the festive favorite 'All I Want for Christmas Is You'.
The CWA members were thrilled by the performance, expressing their appreciation with warm applause. As a thoughtful gesture, they gifted each choir member a handmade Christmas decoration and generously donated $200 to support our school’s music program.
What truly stood out was the heartwarming sight of our wonderful Year 5/6 students engaging in friendly conversations with the CWA members, bridging generations with their kindness and charm.
A huge congratulations to the Senior Choir and Mrs Bowen for a performance that spread so much happiness!
School preparations for the bushfire season
Each year, we undertake a range of activities to ensure the safety of our school and to prepare for bushfires and grassfires.
An important part of this process is communicating to parents what will happen when certain fire danger ratings are issued to help ensure the safety of students and staff.
Our school has been identified as being at risk of bushfire or grassfire and is a Category 3 school.
Our school will close on a day forecast as Catastrophic fire danger rating in North East, fire district.
Closure of the school due to a Catastrophic fire danger rating will be enacted when the Bureau of Meteorology forecast and related public safety messaging are confirmed. Due to uncertainties in the forecast, the timing of this confirmation may vary. Information regarding potential or confirmed Catastrophic fire danger days will be communicated to you by Compass SMS.
It is also important to be aware that:
As part of preparing our school for the fire season, we have updated and completed our Emergency Management Plan and relevant preparedness actions, such as reprioritising any maintenance works that may assist in preparing for the threat of fire and clearing our facility’s grounds and gutters.
Etta B (3O): Congratulations Etta, who performed with the Australian Girls Choir at Hamer Hall.
Eastern Metro Region: Little Athletics Vic Relay Carnival.
Congratulations Jack C (5/6M), Harvey G (4P), Makalo B (5I), Eden B (4C), Milla C (2/3Q), Summer M (2/3Q), Taylor M (3G) and Zahli C (3O) who competed in the Relay Carnival. Many of these students were lucky to stand on the podium and receive a medal for their efforts, and will go on to compete at the State Carnival next month.
