Strings News

A few weeks ago, string players from classes 5, 6, 7 & 8 were lucky enough to be able to attend a presentation in school given by local visiting Luthier Bron Watkins. This was fascinating, bringing together two of the fields of study of the children - woodwork and string playing. Bron showed us all her tools and how she makes her violins using an innovative moulding mechanism, reinforcements, gluing and shaping. Many good and curious questions were asked and much insight gained about our precious violins, violas and cellos.

End of year concerts

In week 9 each class will be performing some of the repertoire that they have been working on, at the end of the school day for parents, in the music room. We do hope as many parents as possible will be able to attend.

Class 3 - Tuesday 3rd Dec.    2:15pm

Class 4 -   Thursday 5th Dec.  2:15pm

Class 5,6,7,8 - Wednesday 4th Dec.  2pm
