Class 8 News

DAN GERICH

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we draw near to the end of the year, I can’t help but feel incredibly proud of our Year 8 Class. It has been a year full of growth, curiosity, and creativity, and although we’re reaching the finish line, the learning has continued without pause. This will be our final newsletter for the year, so I’d like to take a moment to thank each of you for your ongoing support.

Recently, our class embarked on an inspiring journey through the intricacies of human anatomy. The students immersed themselves in understanding the structure of the human body, creating beautiful, detailed drawings and artistic representations of their learning. The work they produced was a testament to both their skill and their engagement with the subject.

As we move into our final weeks, our focus has shifted to preparation for the much-anticipated Class 8 Major Project presentation night on November 28! Students are busy refining their presentation skills, and the room is alive with energy as they practice delivering their projects with clarity and confidence. It promises to be a night full of impressive displays, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

In maths, we’ve been exploring the world of right-angled triangles, revisiting the Pythagorean theorem and laying a foundation for land surveying, which they will encounter in Year 9. It’s been thrilling to see them connect these concepts to real-world applications.

Finally, please join us for the Summer Festival, where Class 8 will perform one last time this year—a fitting conclusion to a busy, rewarding journey together. Thank you for sharing in this incredible year with us.
