F/1/2 CLASSROOM
Transition Foundation session - Investigations & STEAM
Our Transition Foundation students had a ball at school on Friday participating in Investigations and STEAM.
We look forward to welcoming them back to St Mary's in two weeks for Performing Arts with Mr. Ryan.
F/1/2 News
The F/1/2 class have had an amazing two weeks of learning.
In Maths, we have we have continued learning about measurement. The students have enjoyed learning about length and mass (weight). They have been focusing on informal units of measurement. In length, we have been learning how to put identical objects end to end to measure how long something is. In mass, we have been learning about balance scales and how to tell which item is heavier.
The students have also been eagerly awaiting baby updates and have been fascinated at the length of an unborn baby and what other things that size has compared to. The students have also been putting in predictions about what gender they think Mrs Parry’s baby will be and have some very creative reasoning to support their thoughts.
In English, we have been learning about how to effectively combine two short sentences using the conjunction ‘and’. We have been focussing on not repeating information and having ‘and’ used too many times in a row.
In Religion, we have started our unit on Christmas. Students will be learning about Jesus and the birth story found in the Gospel of Matthew.
In the coming weeks, we have a lot of learning and events planned.
