Troy's learning news
Reports
Next Wednesday students will come home with their semester two reports. This is a chance to look at your child's current learning and the progress they have made throughout the year. We often get a few questions regarding grades and how we decide on the grade they are given.
Students who are in Reception will receive no grades at all as this is their first year of schooling and a time for students to adjust to routines and school life. They will still get a report and comments about their learning in English and maths as well as a summary of what has been covered in other subject areas.
Students in Years 1 to 6 will get two grades. One is about the effort your child puts in for that particular subject. The other is the academic achievement based on their year-level learning standard based on the Australian Curriculum.
Below is an outline of what each grade means. Students achieving a C grade are meeting the standard expected for their current year in that subject. A or B means they are achieving above what is expected and D means they are still developing some of the skills needed to be met for their year.
A | Excellent achievement of what is expected at this year level. |
|
B | Good achievement of what is expected at this year level. |
|
C | Satisfactory achievement of what is expected at this year level. |
|
D | Partial achievement of what is expected at this year level. |
|
E | Minimal achievement of what is expected at this year level. |
|
N/A | Not Assessed/Not covered this semester |
