Term 4 Week 8 2024 -  Friday 28th of November.

What have we been up to?

We are almost at the end of the year and what a fantastic Term we are having. Students have been completing a wide range of testing and have shown some amazing progress since the beginning of the year.

In Writing, students have been focusing on persuasive letters. We have read three books that involve a boy writing persuasive letters to his parents and the students have used the strategies we found in those books to write a range of persuasive letters to Mr Danson. They have written letters to him asking for a class pet, a new classroom, to go to the beach on hot days instead of school and lastly to have a 3 day weekend instead of 2. Students have loved learning about persuasive techniques and using these to persuade Mr Danson. After reading all the letters the students have written, the teachers have definitely been persuaded and I am sure Mr Danson would be too.

As we come to the end of the year we have been finishing up our last topics in Maths and will have a focus on problem solving and NAPLAN questions in the next coming weeks. In Science, students have loved looking at Space this term and all have amazing knowledge of the planets and what happens in space.

As the days will be hotter over the next three weeks, please make sure the students have water bottles, sunscreen on and hats in their bags.

Some students had a mini concert in the classroom and were so brave playing their instrument in front of the class! Well done Kai and Quinn

In Maths groups, students asked each class a question and put the data they collected into a table and graph.
