Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) – Update 

Our Extension groups have worked incredibly well together over the term, sharing strategies and supporting each other. We have focused a lot on multistep worded problems, exploring inverse operations, looking at time and duration and some practice Naplan questions. Students have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own worded problems for the group to solve. In Reading we have analysed a variety of texts such as articles, book reviews, folktales and letters. We have explored many different reading strategies such as the main idea, the difference between fact and opinion, word meaning in context, inferencing, author’s purpose, and recognising cause and effect to name a few. In our intervention groups we continue to practice our Phonics skills using the Sounds-Write Linguistic Phonics approach.
