Physical Education
Foundation
The foundation studnets have been learning about overarm throwing by engaging in a variety of fun games and skill-building activities. Through hands-on practice, they’ve developed their throwing technique by focusing on key movements, like stepping forward and following through with their arms. Activities like target games, relay races, and throwing bean bags have helped the children improve their coordination and accuracy while building confidence in their ability to throw overarm. These games have made the learning process enjoyable and have encouraged teamwork, as well as individual skill development.
Grade 1-2
In P.E. this month, our Grade 1 and 2 students have been learning the fundamentals of T-ball! They’ve been practicing key skills such as fielding, throwing, and working together as a team. We’ve also focused on hitting the ball off the tee with the correct technique to help build coordination and confidence. It's been wonderful to see the students improve their skills and teamwork, while having fun and staying active!
Grade 3
The Grade 3 students have been practising their soccer skills through a combination of modified games and focused skills sessions. They’ve been working on key techniques such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, with activities designed to improve their control and coordination. In small-sided games, they’ve had the opportunity to apply these skills in real-game scenarios, helping them develop both teamwork and individual abilities. The modified games, with adjusted rules and smaller teams, allow the students to get more touches on the ball, build confidence, and enhance their understanding of the game in a fun and supportive environment.
Grade 4-6
The Grade 4-6 students are participating in a unique SEPEP (Sports Education in Physical Education Program) for soccer! Throughout this program, students take on different roles, such as coach, umpire, and statistician, while working together to plan, organise, and compete in a friendly tournament. This experience not only teaches them essential soccer skills but also emphasises teamwork, communication, and how to cater to each other's strengths. It’s been exciting to see the students collaborate and develop their leadership and problem-solving abilities both on and off the field!
