Year 8 Maths – A Recipe for Clear Instructions!

In preparation for the upcoming Year 8 Probability Games Carnival, students have been learning how to write clear, precise instructions for their games. To practice this important skill, students took on a fun and tasty challenge: writing instructions for how to cook 2-minute noodles.

Once their instructions were written, their classmates followed them exactly as written to see if they could successfully make the noodles. This led to funny situations, as some students quickly realised they had missed key steps such as removing the noodles from the packet or boiling the water first!

After a few adjustments (and some creative problem-solving), everyone managed to cook their noodles successfully and enjoy the results. The activity was a great reminder that clear communication is essential, whether you’re explaining a maths game or making a simple snack!
