Level 1

Welcome to Term 4!

We are so excited to be back for another wonderful term! The students have returned feeling refreshed, rested, and ready for an action-packed term!

Inquiry and Level 1 Expo

At the end of Term 3, we invited our families to join us in celebrating all of our learning about Minibeasts. Our Level 1 Expo was a great success! Students proudly showcased their trioramas, poetry, and information reports. It was such a fun and memorable way to end the term.

This term, we are beginning our new geography-based Inquiry topic, Natural Disasters. We have started exploring the impact of floods, bushfires, droughts, and cyclones, and are learning how people can prepare for these events.

Miss Gashi's Wedding

We had an absolute blast celebrating Miss Gashi before she headed overseas to get married! The students created beautiful cards and messages filled with advice and well wishes, and we presented her with some very special gifts. Thank you to all the families who helped us send her off feeling so loved. Our favourite part was definitely designing a brand-new wedding dress for her — out of toilet paper!

Literacy

In Literacy, we are excited to be creating our own narratives. Students have been using story plans to map out and organise their ideas. We are focusing on writing interesting beginnings, developing problems for our characters to solve, and creating a resolution. The students are absolutely loving the creative writing process!

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning how to gather, collect, and sort data. It has been a lot of fun asking questions, recording results, and finding different ways to display our findings. We’ve explored how to represent data using column graphs, bar graphs, and pictographs.
