Welcome Back!

A very warm welcome back to our school community after the Term 3 break. I trust that everyone who had time off is feeling refreshed and re-energised for the events and happenings of Term 4. In the first half of this term, we have a busy schedule ahead: four sessions of Foundation Transition, the Swimming Program for Foundation to Level 5, the Level 4 camp to Ferngully Lodge in Healesville, and the Level 6 camp to Don Bosco in Dromana.

Planning for 2026

Term 4 marks the start of our preparation for 2026. One of our major considerations is the creation of classes to support the learning of our students. It is at this time that we ask that you let us know if your children (other than Year 6) will be leaving HEPS and attending another school in 2026.

We also provide an opportunity for you to email Anita through the school email address if you feel there is any specific information about your child's learning or social needs that you believe the school may not be aware of. Such information should not include a request for a particular teacher or student. The information should be provided in writing (letter or email) to the Principal by November 1st. This information will be referenced, along with other available information, during the class placement process.

Parent Information Session on Wellbeing

Last Wednesday, we hosted a well-attended parent information session all about the HEPS Wellbeing Program and how we support every student to achieve their best.

During the session, we explored key parts of our program, including Friendology, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), and Respectful Relationships. We also shared updates on the wide variety of mental health initiatives currently underway, all designed with young people’s needs in mind.

Additionally, we talked about how our Culture of Thinking is closely connected to our wellbeing program, helping students develop not only academically but socially and emotionally.

The picture below shows the outcome of a Thinking Routine, where parents reflected on and shared their hopes for what their children will achieve once they finish school.

A big thank you to all the parents who came along and contributed to this valuable conversation!

Congratulations to the 12 students who participated in Division Athletics last week, and especially those who have progressed to the Regional level. Caleb has progressed in the High Jump, along with Georgia in the hurdles. The Under 10s 100-metre relay team also qualified for the Regional competition. We wish them all the best in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to our Softball team, who have progressed to the Regional level! We wish them all the best in a few weeks’ time as they compete at this high level.

Veggie Garden - Harvest Time!

Our school vegetable garden is thriving, and a variety of vegetables are now ready to be harvested. Students have really enjoyed getting involved in the process — from planting and watering to finally picking the fresh produce. The experience has helped them learn about healthy eating, sustainability, and the effort that goes into growing food.

SunSmart Policy - Hats

This is a reminder that our SunSmart Policy is now in effect for the remainder of 2025. All students must wear a sun protective hat that shades the face, neck and ears for all outdoor activities as per image. At recess and lunch, students who are not wearing an approved hat will remain in the undercover area. Please make sure hats are clearly named.
