Music has a remarkable ability to bring people together and create lasting memories. This was evident on Friday night, when our musicians and their families gathered to celebrate the year so far and the wonderful experiences shared along the way.
Our Grammy’s Red Carpet theme was embraced by our students, who arrived in dazzling outfits, setting the tone for a night of celebration at Nudgee Golf Club. Student-voted awards for Player’s Player and Singer’s Singer were introduced, recognising the talent and camaraderie across our ensembles. The evening culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony honouring our Year 12 students, followed by a packed dance floor!
Congratulations to staff and students for another fabulous year of music and connection.

We extend our gratitude to Faure Flutes and the Middle School String Quartet for their contribution of background music during our Enrolment Tours, enhancing the atmosphere as families gather and await the commencement of events.

Congratulations to the talented Allegria string students on their wonderful performance at the annual Opera Queensland Gala Dinner on Saturday evening! They warmly welcomed guests with their music, creating a delightful atmosphere for all in attendance.

Our students once again shone as exceptional ambassadors for the college, showcasing their dedication and skill. Well done!
Best wishes to the 13 String students across both Primary and Secondary who are sitting their string examinations this week. We are most grateful to our Music Specialist Tutors and Accompanists for the incredible work they do in preparing our young musicians with great precision.
We are excited to announce that the Primary Music Celebration Assembly will be held on Tuesday 4 November. This special event is an opportunity to celebrate our young musicians and acknowledge their contribution to the co-curricular music program throughout the year.
Every Primary musician who is in a current ensemble will receive a certificate, and students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment with outstanding rehearsal attendance and participation in all performances will be eligible to receive a music badge. Students who are eligible for a music badge will receive this in their music ensemble rehearsal.
This year, we are also pleased to introduce Best Musician Awards for each ensemble, selected by the ensemble directors in recognition of excellence and dedication.
Our Year 3 students will perform and share what they have learned through the curriculum string immersion program, and we’ll also enjoy performances from several talented solo musicians.
All families are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the musical achievements of our primary students.
Musicians from Years 6 to 12 who are performing at Speech Night are expected to attend all rehearsals on Monday 17 November at the Clayfield College Assembly Hall and on Tuesday 18 November at QPAC.
All musicians will have a break from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday 18 November and must remain at QPAC. A hot meal will be available through the in-house catering company. This pre-ordered dinner ($18.50) may be purchased online using the link below. Please note that this is only valid for musicians who are performing at our Secondary Speech Night. Students who do not wish to order a meal are to bring their own. There will be no heating facilities available and no purchasing from the vending machines or the cafe.
The countdown is on to LUX 25, our annual celebration of creativity and expression across the Arts. This year’s showcase will feature stunning Visual Art displays alongside captivating performances in Drama, Dance, Music, and Languages. LUX 25 is more than an exhibition - it’s a celebration of the imagination, talent, and vibrant Clayfield spirit that shines through every student artist and performer.
