QCAA external exams start next week for Year 12s. These exams mark the culmination of years of work, learning and growth. They are designed to provide a fair and consistent measure of student achievement across the state, assessing how well Year 12s have understood and can apply the knowledge and skills they've developed throughout their senior subjects.
We wish Year 12 students completing external exams the best of luck.
In order to be as prepared for the exam experience as possible, Mrs Mohan and Mrs Eagle spoke to Year 12 students last week about the expectations and directions for these assessments from the QCAA. Following this, Mrs Mohan shared these and other important reminders via email. Year 12 students should review this email and particularly take note that they should:
Contact Mrs Mohan or Mrs Eagle as soon as reasonably possible if they are unable to attend an exam or likely to be late for an exam. Be prepared to provide detailed evidence to support either of these scenarios.
The QCAA directions are in place to support a calm, fair, and focused environment for everyone.
Year 12, we believe in you. You’ve shown curiosity, commitment and resilience and now it’s your time to shine. As you make your final preparations, know that we are all cheering you on. You are ready. You’ve got this!

The opening week of the Clayfield Spirit Games brought an incredible sense of energy, teamwork and fun across the Secondary School. During Friday House time, students participated enthusiastically in a series of activities designed to build connection and collaboration within their year levels. The Main Oval came alive with laughter and encouragement as teams tackled egg-and-spoon races, relay challenges, and creative ball games - all showcasing the true essence of House spirit.
The excitement continues this week as Week 2 of the Spirit Games promises even more opportunities for friendly competition and camaraderie.

Following this, our community will turn its attention to Clayfield’s Got Talent, a much-anticipated showcase of creativity and courage. On Friday 8 November, each House will present its most dazzling act - from soulful singers and dynamic dancers to comedians, musicians, and even the occasional surprise act! One House will be crowned the overall champion, but the real celebration lies in the courage, joy and unity that define our Clayfield spirit.
Together, these events continue to embody our strategic pillar of Wellbeing through Belonging, strengthening connections across the College and inspiring every student to Let their light shine.

Some wonderful news from the recent Molten Champion Schools of Queensland Competition, held from Thursday 16 October to Sunday 19 October. Across four days of back-to-back games against fierce competition, our team achieved an impressive 8th place out of 16 schools. Many of the games were tightly contested, with the final on Sunday resulting in a narrow 4-point loss.
We were especially proud of our three students from Years 7 and 8 who ‘played up’ in the Junior Secondary (Years 9 and 10) Competition, showcasing resilience, skill, and exceptional Clayfield spirit.
Some of the results included:
• Vs Good Shepherd Lutheran College: 33-24 WIN
• Vs Yarrabilba State College: 21-19 WIN
• FINAL: Vs Catherine McAuley College: 31-35 LOSS
A special thank you to Amy Lewin and Coach Brodie Meis for their guidance and support throughout the week, and to Cerene for her management and organisation leading into the competition.
The girls wore their Clayfield College uniform with pride, and a highlight of the week was the many compliments from opposing coaches, referees, and team managers who praised our students for their outstanding sportsmanship and conduct.

As we enter this final term of the school year, I would like to acknowledge the incredible journey our Year 12 students have undertaken and thank you, their parents and caregivers, for the steadfast support you have provided along the way.
The weeks ahead are filled with both anticipation and intensity as students prepare for their external exams. Your role in offering calm encouragement, balanced routines and positive reinforcement continue to be essential. Together, we can help the Year 12 cohort stay grounded and focused.
At this pivotal moment, we want to reassure you that your child is not walking this path alone. The entire College community is behind them. Our teachers are committed to supporting every student through to the very end, with tutorials, drop-in sessions and opportunities to ask those last minute questions. We continue to be here to walk beside them providing clarity, motivation and reassurance.
Finishing well is about more than just grades. It's about character, perseverance and leaving a legacy. The way our Year 12 students conduct themselves in these final days sets a powerful example for the students coming behind them. Their determination and resilience reflect not just their own strength, but the values nurtured at home and within our College community.
I would also like to extend this message of encouragement to students in Years 7 to 11. As they move through Term 4, it’s important to stay focused, embrace challenge and finish the year strong. The habits they form now will set them up for future success in all elements of their life.
I’d like to take the opportunity to congratulate the students who have been awarded leadership positions for 2026. Their commitment to stepping up and supporting the College community is inspiring and I am excited to see the positive impact they will make. To those who missed out this time, thank you for having the courage to put yourselves forward. Your willingness to take on leadership roles is a testament to your character and commitment to those around you.
I ask that parents continue to encourage healthy habits, rest and perspective at home. Let your children know they are surrounded by a community that believes in them, celebrates their progress and is ready to support them through this last leg of the school year.
