We are delighted to congratulate our Britton Shield Aquathlon team on their outstanding achievement as the overall winners of this year’s competition. The team, which comprised of 25 dedicated boys from Years 2 to 6, represented our school with pride and determination as they competed against strong teams from Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) and Ipswich Grammar School. Thank you to Miss Amy Lewin, Ms Clare Cattanach and coaches for their organisation and support of the boys on the day.

As previously communicated in the Term 4 Welcome Back letter, we are very excited to welcome our new and transitioning students into their 2026-year levels in Week 4 on Friday 31 October. For current students to the College this will be a regular school day, where they will spend the morning immersed in a different classroom and environment, meet some of the new friends who will be joining the cohort and complete some learning for the year level above.
Please be aware, the teachers that the students will be placed with on Orientation Day, won’t necessarily be the teachers they will have for the 2026 school year.
Our teachers occasionally move from one year level to another in the Primary Years. Classes and teachers will be shared with our community ahead of the new school year.
There will be a special presentation to our 2026 Clayfield Sevens as part of Speech Night. Please refer to communication that was sent from the Enrolments Team following Orientation Day.
Please note: students in Years 6 to 12 will have allocated seating. The booking link below is for family members/guests of our students in Years 6 to 11 (Year 12 families have been communicated to directly in relation to their allocated seating).

Primary Presentation Day
Primary Presentation Day will be held in Week 9 on Wednesday 3 December. More information and booking requirements will be shared in next week's edition of the Collective

Throughout the year, our Pre-Prep children have shown a strong and genuine interest in
wildlife. They have been noticing creatures, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing stories about animals they encounter at home and in nature. In response to this curiosity, they welcomed Reptile Adventures to Clayfield College Pre-Prep for a wildlife incursion on Monday to extend their learning through a hands-on experience with a range of animals.
The children had the opportunity to see and learn about several different species: a baby saltwater crocodile, a woma python, a green tree frog, a Kreft’s River turtle, a bearded dragon, and shingleback skink. The presenter guided the children in exploring how each animal looks and feels, what they eat, where they live, how they move, and the ways they protect themselves from predators. The children also learnt about how animals care for their young and discussed snake safety, helping to build awareness and confidence about being safe and respectful around native wildlife.

On Monday students participated in an exciting science incursion with Street Science that recapped key concepts explored throughout the year. With a focus on reversible and irreversible changes, students were captivated by hands-on experiments including making their very own slime and ‘snow’.
Students watched on as the presenter created elephant toothpaste, formed clouds with liquid nitrogen, and observed flame colour changes with different mineral sprays. This dynamic showcase offered a fun and memorable way to revisit learning from Terms 1, 2, and 3, reinforcing scientific understanding through engaging demonstrations and interactive experiences.

The Year 5 Entrepreneurial Showcase was a vibrant celebration of student learning and creativity. Year 6 students and I had the pleasure of attending this inspiring event, where Year 5 students worked in collaborative groups across all three classes to champion a chosen charity. As part of our Primary service-learning focus, they educated their parents, teachers, and peers on each charity’s mission, fundraising efforts, and societal impact.
The showcase featured eye-catching posters, jingles, brochures, badges, and slogans, all brought to life by passionate and knowledgeable young advocates. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Carter, Mrs Patterson, Mr Reedy, and Mrs San Miguel for guiding the students so beautifully.
