2025 School Performance Report Released
2025 School Performance Reports were released to Government schools last week. This report and it shows that Trafalgar Primary School continues to perform strongly compared to similar schools across Victoria.
Our Numeracy results are high and improving, which shows that our focus on clear, structured teaching in maths is making a difference. Reading results have remained steady, and we’re confident that the work we’re doing through Explicit Direct Instruction and our new Knowledge-Rich Units will help lift learning even further in the years ahead.
We are especially proud of our Wellbeing results, which remain High and well above similar schools particularly in the areas of Managing Bullying, School Connectedness, and Emotional Awareness. This reflects the great work teachers have done to create calm, respectful classrooms, supported by ideas from Tom Bennett’s “Running the Room” and our renewed focus on clear routines and expectations.
This year, we’ve been reviewing our School Rules and Routines, and we’ll be sharing these updates with families soon. They build on our school values; Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be a Learner.
Attendance has stayed steady and in line with other schools like ours. Thank you to families for helping children be at school and ready to learn each day.
Finally, a reminder that there is no school on Monday or Tuesday for the Melbourne Cup long weekend. We know many families take this chance for a short break before the busy end of term. If you’re travelling, please do so safely, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school next Wednesday, ready for the exciting final part of the year.
Sincerely,
Cameron Nicholls
Principal
