What is happening in the Art room
Foundation: The Foundation students just finished their gorgeous crocodiles based on the story ‘Solomon Crocodile’. They learnt how to apply a wet on wet watercolour technique, and had fun making the dragonflies with popsticks and shiny paper wings.
Year 1- 2: The year 1-2 students have been learning about minibeasts creating 3D giant stuffed beetles, and drawing detailed gardens from a bugs eye view. They used colour diffusing paper and eyedroppers filled with liquid watercolours to make colourful butterflies to add to the garden.
Year 3: Students are learning about outer space so they created these cute alien spacecraft from a paper plate. The result is ‘out of this world!’.
Year 4: These students are reading a book in class called Kensuke’s Kingdom so they are creating a styrene print from their favourite part of the story so far. They have drawn the print but still have to print it this week so a photo will be put up in the next newsletter.
Year 5: These students are continuing to work on their 3D piece for the Art show next term.
