ALEC Semester One

Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre

Our girls have been actively engaging in arts and crafts and healthy lifestyle conversations. They have been beading, weaving, painting and currently hand stitching and completing end of term activities.

Vaping and cigarettes were strong topics of conversation and some of the girls designed posters to encourage vapers to stop.  Click on the link below to learn more about vapes

The boys have been invited in to engage in art activities and are keen to do more in our ALEC space.

Below are a few captured moments from the Sista Speak and Women’s group sessions and the Dirraybang boys group, which are lead by Monica Lyons, and take place in the Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre.

Thank you to all our students for a busy semester and to our ALEC staff who have worked with and supported our students each week.

I would like to wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday break with family and friends and encourage our students to take the time to reflect on what they have achieved personally, academically and culturally throughout the semester.

Have a great holiday and enjoy NAIDOC Week.
