As we are coming into the colder, wintery months it is important we keep on top of germs and sickness within our community. Your cooperation in maintaining a healthy school environment is crucial for the well-being of all students. We kindly request that you refrain from sending your child to school if they are feeling unwell. By doing so, we aim to curb the spread of germs and protect not only other students but also those with compromised immune systems. Your vigilance in this matter is greatly appreciated and plays a significant role in safeguarding the health of our school community.
Students who are exhibiting cold and flu symptoms will be sent home during the day.
We loved our RFDs Incursion! Going onto the plane and using the equipment and trying out the flight simulator was so much fun. Did you know John Flynn (creator of the Royal Flying Doctors) is on the $20 note?
Here are some photos of our incursion and our writing about our incursion.
This year VPS is excited to take part in Wear it Yellow day. On Friday the 7th of June students can wear something yellow to school to show their support for creating a bright future for First Nations Children and families. If your child is wearing free dress, they are required to bring a gold coin donation to help this cause. We look forward to seeing the students and staff all dressed up in yellow!
Maths
We are:

- using the words full, half full, empty, overflowing to describe capacity
- sharing objects equally between groups
- exploring the difference between fair and unfair shares
- using ordinal numbers to identify position
Here we are exploring patterns and capacity:
Here are some photos of us practicing our addition and subtraction while playing Get Out of My House. It’s a great and easy game to play and so much fun! Just ask us how.
Literacy
- revising and learning new sounds
- learning common words
- using our sounds to read simple sentences
- explicit focus on using finger spaces between each word in a sentence
- continuing our books – writing about our first day of school and our families
Here is some of our incredible writing about a story we read:
