Congratulations to our May Aussie of the Month Maddie H.

Aussie of the Month is awarded to a student each month that demonstrates the qualities of fairness, mateship, respect and inclusion. 

Maddie is an exceptional classmate who consistently embodies our school values. Within the classroom, outside in the yard and in the community, Maddie is someone who leads by example. Without effort, Maddie chooses to do the right thing and represent herself and Great Ryrie with pride. Maddie supports others in all that they do, always offering kind words of encouragement and recognising their achievements. 

Maddie respects her peers and teachers. 

She shows this by the attention she gives them and concentrating when other people are speaking. Maddie is someone who sees the positive in all things and is grateful for the opportunities that are given to her. Maddie shows great resilience when it comes to taking on personal and learning challenges, doing so with persistence and bravery. She is determined to get the best from herself and puts in the required effort to maximise her experiences. 

At our recent Grade 5 camp, Maddie again demonstrated her inner strengths and outstanding character through her participation in all the challenges, willingness to push her limits and her genuine words of encouragement for others in her activity group. Furthermore, Maddie interacted with camp leaders and camp staff politely, respectfully and with a sense of fun.

At GRPS we believe it is important to acknowledge students that are actively contributing to our community in a positive way and are consistently demonstrating our school values of respect, responsibility, and a learner.
