Spotlight on Children in TB:
The young members of TB have expressed that their band training has significantly enhanced their musical abilities while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and personal growth. Indie, Year 2, shares, "What I like about the band is that I get to be part of something big and enjoy the experience. I play the Oboe. I get to play lots of different songs, but a few months ago I couldn't get a sound out of my Oboe." Timothy, 3S, adds, "I get to enjoy speaking a whole new language with my friends. It's crazy. I play the trumpet. I chose this instrument because it felt right. It was like it was meant for me." Below are some more insights from our young musicians.
Upcoming Events:
Ryde East Music Festival
Our Training Band, Junior Band and Concert Band students are entered into this year’s Ryde East Music Festival!
The festival is a great opportunity for primary school bands to perform for an audience.
Each band will perform two pieces and will receive feedback from the adjudicators. Based on their performance, bands will be awarded a gold, silver or bronze trophy.
The event is coming up quickly on Sunday the 23rd June. Please keep a look out for timing information (we should be allocated times at the start of June) and let us know if your child can not attend.
Police Band Visit and Workshop
We are very excited for our upcoming Police Band workshop and concert. This will be happening on Tuesday the 25th June. Training Band and Junior Band will have a ‘fly on the wall’ experience observing Concert Band’s workshop with the Police Band. Then the Police Band will be performing a concert for the whole Roselea school community right before lunch.
Volunteers Needed:
Festival of the Bands is coming up in August and we are putting the call out to parents to volunteer your time to help us organise the event. If you have some time to spare to help sourcing sponsorships and donations for the raffle, please reach out to Fallon via whatsapp.
