Parents/Guardians,
Pupil Free Day
Our next Pupil free day is tomorrow - Friday 7th June. This is the day we have allocated to Assessment and Reporting. We have chosen this day as it aligns with the King's birthday holiday on Monday 10th, making it a four day weekend for families who are looking for an opportunity to get away.
Pancake Breakfast Friday 28th
To celebrate the end of a busy term we are holding a Pancake Breakfast for students and their families starting at 8:30am on June 28th (We will also have a coffee van available for the adults!). There will be no cost to families.
Attendance Ladder Winners - June
Congratulations to Grade 3/4 Ross who finished on top of the Attendance ladder for the month of June. Also congratulations 1/2 Wright who had the least unexplained absences. Both classes are busy discussing how the will celebrate this great work. Please remember to contact the office or send in a note if your child is away for any reason otherwise it remains on our system as unexplained.
2023 Annual Report
This week our Annual Report was approved for quality assurance by the Education Department. Our Annual report is one way for the school council to inform the community of what has been achieved in 2023 and how the school is performing. It is an opportunity to reflect on the school’s achievements and use this as a basis for future planning. It is great to reflect on the results we have achieved as a school and celebrate our successes whilst carefully planning to ensure our results continue to improve. If you would like to take a look at our Annual Report it is now available on our Website on the Policies page.
School Saving Bonus 2025
You may have seen the recent announcement of the School Saving Bonus, as part of the Victorian Budget 2024/25. This one-off support will include $400 for each eligible student to help families cover the costs of school uniforms and activities in 2025. It will be available to parents and carers of every child enrolled in a Victorian government school in 2025. Cash will not be paid directly to individuals or families. Instead, families will receive the bonus as credit that will help meet the costs of your children’s activities and uniforms. The School Saving Bonus support will be in addition to existing and continuing means-tested supports for CSEF (Camps, Sports, Excursions Fund).
Semester One student reports
Over the next couple of weeks, all teachers will be working in Professional Learning Teams to moderate student data in order to make consistent and comparable judgements of student learning against the Victorian Curriculum. Reports will be released via XUNO on Thursday 27th June.
Prep enrolments for 2025
Prep enrolments for 2025 are being accepted and the Department of Education suggests school encourage families to submit these by the end of this term. If you know of families interested in attending Rochester Primary School in 2025, please encourage them to contact the school.
Thursday Morning tea
Every Thursday morning we hold a parent morning tea from 8:45 am. This is a great opportunity to meet and speak to members of our wellbeing team, other staff, other parents or a chance to come in and relax. Morning tea is provided.
I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend,
Kate Whitford
