College Athletics Carnival
On Thursday 9 May the College Athletics Carnival was held. As a result of the high participation rate the relays were held at school along with the Javelin a couple of weeks later.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the relays and champion of champion races. Well done to Zac Whalan and Miley Jeffery who were awarded the fastest male and female in the College winning their race. The Armidale Diocese Athletics Carnival will take place in Tamworth on 8 August.
NSW Secondary Schools Touch Football Championships
On Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 May the North West NSW Touch Football Championships were held at Gipps Street Playing Fields Tamworth.
The Year 9/10 girls played well qualifying for the semi finals winning 2 and losing 2 of the round games before going down to St Marys from Wellington in the sem-final. A great effort from the girls and a big thank you to Zara Wise who refereed on the day and to Janae Griffiths and Lulu Caroll who refereed in the Year 7 and 8 girls competition. The boys and girls Year 7 and 8 touch football teams both played well with the boys winning 3 out of 4 pool games before going down to Glen Innes in the semi final. The girls won 1, drew 1 and lost 2.
NSW All Schools Swimming Championships
Congratulations to Tilani Smith, Abbey Trewern, Lily Stewart and Colby Butler who competed in the NSW All Schools 50 metre medley relay on 28 May in the Open’s division. The girls finished 6th with a great effort!
Open Girls Rugby League
Congratulations to the Open Girls Rugby League team who won the Jayda Taylor Cup on 28 May. Well done Mrs Laird and the team who defeated Tamworth High School in the final.
NSW CCC Sport Selections and Northern Country
Congratulations to Sullivan Butler and Tom Mallon who were selected in the Northern Country Rugby Under 16 team which competed at the NSW CCC Championships in Sydney during May.

NSW Schools Cup Netball
On Wednesday 22 May five teams competed in the NSW Schools Cup Netball Championships in Tamworth. Congratulations to the three teams who progressed to the regional finals which will be held at the end of Term 3 in Tamworth. The Year 7/8 girls blue team, Year 9/10 girls team A and Year 9/10 boys team. Thank you to Mrs Anderson, Mrs Gambrill and Miss Urquhart for their coaching and support.
NSW Schools Basketball Championships
In late May and early June the Under 16 boys and girls and the Open boys competed for the first time in the Basketball NSW competition in Coffs Harbour. This was a great success and all 3 teams made the grand final. Students had the opportunity for some really competitive matches ahead of the NSW CCC Opens basketball later this term. A big thank you to Miss Gambrill and Miss Ezbery for their coaching, training and organisation for the event.
Bill Turner Cup Soccer
The boys and girls Under 15 soccer teams have recently competed in the statewide Bill Turner Cup competition. Both teams played well in their matches, the boys defeated Carinya 9-0 in round 1 and Narrabri HS 8-0 in round 2, before going down 6-3 to a very strong Oxley HS team. The girls played Calrossy in round one and went down 2-1 in a tight game. Thank you to Mr Rindo and Mr Saban for their coaching.
Diocese Junior and Senior Soccer
On Thursday 6 June the Armidale Diocese Soccer Championships were held at Inverell. The College was well represented with three teams competing. Junior Girls, Junior Boys and Senior Boys. The senior boys lost 2-1 to O’Connor whilst the Junior Boys won 1, lost 1 and drew 1. The Junior Girls won all 3 games to win the Diocese Championships and will now advance to the Inter Diocese Finals to challenge the winner of the Lismore Diocese before the end of the term. Thank you to Mr Rindo, Mr Saban and Miss Maio for their coaching.
Diocese Cross Country and Tennis
On Wednesday 15 May the Diocese Cross Country and tennis Championships were held at UNE Armidale. Several students finished in the top six to qualify for the NSW CCC Cross Country next month. A big congratulations to Amity Wall and Caitlyn Costelloe who were the 12 and 13 Years Age Champions. The boys and girls tennis teams competed well with the boys reaching the final before a narrow loss to St Mary’s Gunnedah. A special mention to Charli Manning who won all her sets. Thank you to Mr Drew for looking after the tennis team.
