Library News

The end of this term marks the end of an era for McCarthy. The original library at McCarthy Catholic Senior High School was located where K2, K3 and K4 are now.

When McCarthy Catholic Senior High School merged with Rosary College to become McCarthy Catholic College over twenty years ago, the present site was revamped and has been updated over the years.

The library was moved to its current location and remodelled in the early 2000s.

However, it is now time to say goodbye to our existing library as we embark on a new journey as the library continues to evolve. The current  library will be part of the demolition of some of the older school buildings at the end of Term 2 as we begin the process to build a new library and classrooms for the future.

While the building of the new library and classrooms in a two storey building takes place, an interim library will be located in N1. With a stream-lined collection and service, the Library staff look forward to continuing to serve the needs of our McCarthy staff and students during the building process.

What does not change is the commitment to the love of reading and love of learning of the library staff, both past and present, who have been dedicated to serving the McCarthy community.
